Material Tests: Wood

As part of my current course we are being given the opportunity to experiment with various materials. I've decided to use this opportunity to try and create items that would not ordinarily be associated with the material.

So, I decided to test how how wood could be used to make jewellery as this is something I have rarely seen.

Day Twenty Six: Ice Art!

Fittingly, I've just come back from an ICE meeting (Improvisational Comedy Ents) so what better time than to post some ice art!

Sooooo gutted the detail of the fingers doesn't show up half as well as in real life. These ice fingers are exact replicas of my lovely left hand digits made from wax casts then filled with water.

This would have been posted earlier had it not been for the fact my middle finger wax cast cracked before it had frozen properly resulting in half an ice finger and half an ice puddle.

I'm pleased with this piece of art in real life - shame the photos don't capture it AND I'm the only one awake so I am going to be the only person to witness it before it melts . . sorry ice fingers.
